Theology is the disciplined study of God's nature, His revelation, and His purposes for creation. At CRC, our theological resources span three major branches: Systematic, Historical, and Philosophical, equipping students to engage with the full scope of Christian thought from the apostolic age to the present day.
Systematic Theology
The ordered study of Christian doctrine drawn from Scripture and the historic confessions of the Church.
Doctrine of God
Attributes and nature of God, His sovereignty, holiness, love, and self-revelation in Scripture.
Trinity
The triune God doctrine. One God eternally existing in three persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.
Christology
The person and work of Christ, His incarnation, atonement, resurrection, and exaltation.
Pneumatology
Doctrine of the Holy Spirit, His divinity, indwelling, gifts, and work in the life of the believer.
Soteriology
Doctrine of salvation, election, justification, sanctification, and the finished work of Christ.
Ecclesiology
Doctrine of the Church, its nature, mission, ordinances, and role in God's redemptive plan.
Eschatology
End times and prophecy, the return of Christ, final judgment, resurrection, and the new creation.
Historical Theology
Tracing the development of Christian thought from the apostolic age through the Reformation and beyond.
Early Church
The first centuries of Christianity, from the apostolic writings through the emergence of the major creeds and the formation of the New Testament canon.
Ecumenical Councils
Nicaea, Chalcedon and more. The great assemblies that defined orthodox Christology, Trinitarian theology, and the boundaries of the faith.
Church Fathers
Patristic theology. The writings of Athanasius, Augustine, the Cappadocians, and John Chrysostom that shaped orthodox doctrine.
